Enterprise Multiple
The Enterprise Multiple of a company is a fundamental financial indicator, like the P/E Ratio, which provides information about the value of a company. The Enterprise Multiple takes into account the debt of the company and the cash it has, which the P/E Ratio does not account for.
The Enterprise Multiple is easily calculated by dividing the Enterprise Value by EBITDA. Low numbers for this indicator are preferred, similar to the P/E Ratio. Different industries will have different Enterprise Multiples. High growth industries will have higher Enterpise Multiples than low growth industries. So it makes more sense to compare the Enterprise Multiple of a company to the average in that industry, rather than compare it to a company in another industry.
